Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Jumuah. Another question? Type /help in Discord or join the support server.

Getting started

Is Jumuah free?
Yes. The radio, the daily posts, the prayer reminders, the quiz, the khatm and every command are free, without limits. Premium only adds customisation and a few options for large servers.
How do I add the bot to my server?
Click “Add” at the top of the page, choose your server and confirm. You need the “Manage Server” permission. The bot only asks for the permissions it needs, never “Administrator”.
Where do I start once the bot is added?
Log in to the dashboard: the overview offers a “Getting started” checklist. You can also set everything up in Discord with /radio start, /config hadith and /config prayers. The /help command lists every command.
Can I use the bot without adding it to a server?
Yes: with “Add to my account”, the reading commands (Quran, hadiths, prayer, duas, quiz…) work in your direct messages and on every server. Personal /reminders arrive by direct message.
In which language does the bot answer?
In English, French or Arabic. By default it follows your Discord app: French for French speakers, English for everyone else. Choose another language with /language (Discord has no Arabic version, so Arabic is chosen there). Automatic posts use the server’s language, which can be changed with /config language or in the dashboard settings.

Quran radio

Does the radio really run 24/7?
Yes. The bot stays in the chosen voice channel and comes back on its own after a disconnection, a restart or a kick. If a station stops responding, it resumes playback from a backup server.
I can’t hear anything in the voice channel.
Check that the bot has the “Connect” and “Speak” permissions in that channel and is not muted. After changing channels, wait a few seconds: Discord’s voice encryption must be established before sound goes through. If the problem persists, change station with /radio status.
Which stations are available?
More than 170: many reciters (Al-Afasy, As-Sudais, Al-Muaiqly…), translation, tafsir, adhkar and ruqyah. /radio stations lists them all.

Prayer and posts

How are prayer times calculated?
With Aladhan, using the most common method in the city’s country (Muslim World League, ISNA, Umm al-Qura…). Twenty methods and the Hanafi Asr calculation are available. For your mosque’s exact time, compare with its timetable and pick the closest method.
Posts arrive at the wrong time.
Post times follow the server’s time zone, set in Settings (or /config timezone). Prayer reminders follow the time zone of the chosen city.
Where do the hadiths and translations come from?
The Quran comes from alquran.cloud, with the Sahih International translation in English and Muhammad Hamidullah’s in French. Hadiths come from the major collections (Bukhari, Muslim, an-Nawawi’s 40…) and hadiths graded weak are left out. Every post cites its source.
How do I get my own prayer reminders?
With /reminders setup: choose your city, the prayers and when to be reminded (on time or 5 to 30 minutes before). They arrive by direct message, with an “I prayed” button that ticks your /tracker.

Premium

What does Premium include?
A bot profile in your server’s image (nickname, avatar, banner, bio), card colour and a signature, up to 5 cities for reminders, Ramadan reminders and 30-day statistics. Details are on the Premium page.
How much does it cost and how do I cancel?
€2.99 per month per server, no commitment. The member who paid can cancel anytime from the dashboard’s Subscription page: Premium stays active until the end of the paid period.
Is payment secure?
Yes: it goes entirely through Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
What happens to Premium if the bot leaves the server?
The subscription stays attached to the server: if you invite the bot again, Premium is still there. To stop paying, cancel the subscription from the dashboard.

Data and security

What data does the bot keep?
Only what it needs: each server’s settings, the city you choose to save, your counters (tasbih, quiz, prayer tracker) and a log of settings changes. No message is read or stored. Everything is detailed in the privacy policy.
What happens if I remove the bot?
The server’s settings are deleted as soon as the bot leaves it (only the state of an ongoing Premium subscription is kept).
Who can change the settings?
Only members with the “Manage Server” permission. The bot checks it with Discord on every dashboard action, and the Audit log page shows who changed what.
